College Life at MSM

On Friday 17 January 2020, 42 members of the MSM 2020 Swim Team embarked on our annual training camp. This year, we ventured to Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast for a weekend of hard work, fun and a focus on fostering the “team” in this very individual sport! We started by impressing the locals at a club swim meet held in our honour at the Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre, where MSM students impressively competed against the locals. After a cosy night at “Campialba”, and some very homely cooked meals by this accommodating camp facility we headed back to the pool for two very intense swimming training sessions.

We spent some time thinking about our team and individual goals for the upcoming season and getting to know our team mates through some “Minute to Win It” fun before the highlight of our tour – heading over to Fraser Island for some beach fun and adventure! I would like to personally thank staff and coaches (Mrs Manase, Miss Page, Jono and Sean) who assisted me in attending, for their sense of adventure and willingness to get involved. We could not have been prouder of the effort that every girl put into this training camp. They worked hard but they played harder, which is always a winning combination!
